| Let's face it. Xanga once dominated the blog world. But, their failure to adapt quickly to their competition has left them more and more like what Friendster is to MySpace. (Do note, I wouldn't mind owning a piece of Friendster though -- they just inked a deal with Google for undisclosed amount as Google will be their sole advertisers. Yes, another loss to Terry Siemel's Yahoo. Oh yeah, while we're at it, here's some information. Terry Siemel, Yahoo's CEO, for the time he's been with Yahoo has failed repeatedly and has contributed to Yahoo's decline in their stock price for the past couple years. What does he get? Over $550 million dollars in compensation. Go figure.) But, I'm digressing.
I just wanted to let the folks here to know I've moved! No longer will I blog at xanga. This blog, very dear to me, was started back in Dec. 2003. I distinctly remember the emotions I was going through when creating this too. But times have changed and I'd like a fresh start. Free from the kiddish user name, free from the random, less than worthy posts, free from this very dull and inflexible layout design. I moved over to Wordpress.
Feel free to bookmark my site and enjoy some of my stories. Sometimes it's my therapy to blog and in doing so, I hope some of my writing (good or bad) can motivate or inspire others to follow along and once in a while, give me a comment or two. Thanks Xanga folks!

| When you're in a big company, pay is great (if you landed yourself a top tier end job), but sometimes you may feel you are too restricted in your role.
But, I can also attest for start-ups and small firms that is sometimes overwhelming -- that your role encompasses more than several jobs and you're wearing multiple hats. In light of responsibilities, however, if you constantly quantify your objectives, your goals, and how your accomplishments fit into the big picture (the start-up), the end result will be a favorable one.
Soon, this blog will be retired -- I'm looking to start clean and not have a username to be "wwkidww" (which originally stood for wrestling and weight lifting as those two sports were my life 10 years ago) and a more clean looking blog. I will be starting a WordPress or a Blogger Blog this month. Hopefully, that will motivate me to write meaningful posts regarding life as an entrepreneur and the likes.

| Majority of the TV programming and shows are crap. It's easy to ignore it. Is there any value add to it? I can understand going for humor. But how much do you need of that? I wish one would challenge themselves and the networks more in developing added value programming.

I am watching Macworld's Keynote. I wonder if Apple and Cisco will work out the whole use of the name "iPhone". Time will tell. I want an iPhone (Release date: June 2007). The stock drove up 7% today.
---
Update 1/9/2007: As expected, Cisco sues Apple for over the name "iPhone". I'm sure they will reach a settlement for an undisclosed amount. I'm assuming Cisco waited this long so that they can get a bigger piece of the pie from Apple. What would it do to the stock price for Apple? Time will tell. Why did Apple move forward with the name even though they knew they were going to be sued by Cisco? Apple have been in discussion with Cisco to work out a settlement for a few years now. Considering Job's Keynote at MacWorld yesterday and the information he provided (projecting to penetrate a very conservative 1% of the more than one billion dollar market and a price tag starting at $499), I believe Apple was willing to pay the settlement versus having to dump in resources to rebrand the device to something else. For those that are looking at those numbers, yeah, a 1% market share would be revenue of at least $4.9 billion. But knowing Apple, they are a company that follows the UPOD model: Under promise and over (way over) deliver.
Get in on Sun before or after the Q2 reports? They jumped up a bit today, but there's no news out. Need ot do some more research.
